Spring is officially here on the coast, but we are all staying home to help flatten the curve of Covid 19.

Thousands of gorgeous gray whales are making their way back up the west coast right now, fresh from their winter in the warm waters of Baja, Mexico.

According to Oregon State Parks, the first surge of whales are often seen at the end of March and will continue through June, with migrating whales sometimes seen feeding right off shore with their specially adapted filter feeding bristles called baleen.

Watch for whales from your couch by going to https://youtu.be/q6g-Xc3KMaY where you can connect to @oregonstateparks YouTube account and their live whale watching feed from Depoe Bay.

More information about the agency’s response to COVID-19 is on Oregon State Park’s official FAQ page.
