Saturday 9:30 a.m. A coastal mountains ride east of Waldport and Yachats begins
The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic offers riders seeking an unvarnished challenge a full day of adventure in the Siuslaw National Forest and rural towns on the central Oregon Coast. The ride showcases the raw beauty of ancient Siuslaw National Forest scenery. It consists of 50% pure logging roads that are unpaved and the other 50% smooth pavement left over from decades of active logging that still exists to this day.
There are two routes to choose from:
Abomination: 60 miles long with 6677 ft of climbing, taking 3.5-7hrs for most.
Son of Abomination: 37 miles long with 3,740 ft of climbing, taking 3-4 hrs for most.
The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic is the kickoff event of the Oregon Triple Crown Series of premier, and challenging events each May. Do one or do them all with the Oregon Triple Crown Pass that gives you 15% off this event if you sign up for the pass prior to this event.
This event is being produced in cooperation with the communities of Waldport and Yachats on the central Oregon Coast and with the support of The Peoples Coast. This event is presented by Oregon Coast Bank and is produced in cooperation with the communities of Waldport and Yachats and with the support Travel Oregon and a number of other outstanding sponsors TBA. It is Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) sanctioned.
