Gerdemann Botanic Preserve Public Footpath

(Map #1)

The Public Footpath is open during daylight hours. No parking available. Public Footpath Trail Maps are available in kiosks by the gates at West and East Ends. For a sample view of the map, click on the web site link above; then click on "Visit the Preserve."

The footpath crosses Mitchell Creek and a wetland area. There are bridges and a boardwalk. We caution hikers to take care in the wet creek areas and bridge crossings. Users are reminded to stay on the sign posted trail. All wildlife, plants, and waterways are protected. Picking or collecting is prohibited. Sorry, no dogs.

The Public Footpath connects to other local hiking trails in the area. We thank the City of Yachats and individual donors for providing funds to help offset expenses to complete the public trail route through the southern boundary of the botanic preserve which remains private property.
