The city’s popular Sunday Farmers Market returns on Mother’s Day this Sunday with a record number of vendors — 45 — and some new food options.
The market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday through October at its traditional location on West Fourth Street just off U.S. Highway 101. The market will offer produce, plants, meats, smoked cheeses and mushrooms, along with pottery, jewelry, glass and metal art, handmade soaps and more.
Well-behaved dogs are allowed – but “no biting, no fighting.

Yachats Crab Feed by Lions Club
Our annual Yachats Lions Club Crab Feed is DINE-IN on Saturday, January 27, 2024! The 2024 Crab Feed will offer 3 seatings, 12:30pm and 4:00pm at the Yachats Commons and 4:00pm at the Yachats Lions Hall.
Meals purchased will consist of one whole Dungeness crab, fresh locally baked bread, coleslaw, baked beans, and soda for $50. With each purchase of a crab meal, extra crabs will be available for $30 per crab.

The 4:00pm seating at the Yachats Commons is reserved for parties of six or more. The capacity is 125 people at the Lions Hall seating and 180 at the two Yachats Commons seatings, so make your reservations early! All reservations will be made online.
New Year's Day Peace Hike
2024 New Year’s Day Peace Hike
Yachats, OR- On New Year’s Day, the Yachats Trails Committee will host the 13th Annual Peace Hike in Yachats, Oregon. The Peace Hike traditionally honors the memory of a blind Native American (Coos) woman named Amanda who was forcibly taken away from her daughter and marched 80 miles with other captives all barefoot through the rocky terrain to the Alsea Sub-agency prison camp in what is now Yachats in 1864.

The Yachats Chamber of Commerce Mixer on December 12 at 4 pm is set to take place at the Adobe Hotel in the Pacific Room. This event offers an excellent opportunity for local businesses to network and mingle with each other. Attendees can enjoy a selection of appetizers and a hot cocoa bar, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere. The mixer is a chance to connect with fellow businesses and a platform for building a stronger local community and fostering collaboration. The location at the Adobe Hotel adds a touch of elegance to the event, providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for participants to engage and exchange ideas.

Youth Art Contest and Show
JOIN us on October 21, 2023, for the First Annual South County Youth Art Contest and Show. The event will present artwork from young people (ages 12-15 and 16-18) in South County (Waldport, Yachats, and Tidewater) and will include a reception and an awards ceremony to announce our winners. The awards will include cash prizes.
Proceeds from this event provide financial support to youths interested in the arts.

At the Yachats Commons and various venues in Yachats, there will be:
Mushroom Identification tables, hands-on experiences in our workshop series hosted by professional mycologists, and educational speakers, including well-known Dr. Charles Lefevre, president and founder of New World Truffieres and Willy T, presenting on Exploring Oregon's Psilocybin Services and the Balance of Therapy and Fun.
There are also multi-level guided walks. All festival walks are led by professional and amateur mycologists, forest ecologists, and naturalists. Walks are held on excellent, easy trails in the spectacular coastal mature and old-growth forest.
New this year! The event kicks off with a Mushroom Dinner. The mushroom-themed dinner, on Friday at the Yachats Commons, will include live music by GAEA, followed by the talk from Langdon Cook, author of “The Mushroom Hunters: A Hidden World of Food, Money, and (Mostly Legal) Adventure.”
On Saturday and Sunday at the Commons you will find the: All Mushroom Things Artists, Cultivators, Creators, Gatherers Fair and Mushroom Cafe hosted by Beach Daisy Wine.

Mushroom Treasure Hunt
Mushroom Treasure Hunt, Saturday’s October 21st - March 2nd
If you find it, you keep it!
On Saturdays, October 21st - March 2nd, the Yachats Area Chamber of Commerce and the “Trail Gnomes” will set out and hide mushrooms made out of glass and porcelain by local artists Rasa Clay Works and Paris Birdwell.
We will give clues to their secret hiding place @Visit.Yachats once they are hidden.

We are staging a music festival for the Annular Solar Eclipse on October 13th and 14 in Yachats, OR. Come greet the solar eclipse, where it will first meet the North American continent. Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is a vibrant and lively festival celebrating German culture, mainly through its traditional music, dancing, beer, and food. The festival occurs from September 29th at 5:00 PM to October 1st, 11:00 AM (PDT) in Yachats, Oregon.
The festivities commence on Friday, September 29th, at Yachats City Commons with the traditional tapping of the keg and the singing of the Yachats Oktoberfest Song. The evening continues with Polkafest, a lively event featuring dancing, beer, and bratwurst. Even if you're new to polka dancing, don't worry; there will be learning opportunities. Admission to Friday events is free, with beer, brats, and pretzels available for purchase.
On Saturday, September 30th, the celebration spreads throughout the community. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, you can participate in the Volkswalk. Stop by the Pavillion behind the Commons, purchase your Volkswalk Passport for $5.00, visit our local participating businesses, and gather your passport stamps. Receive a passport stamp at each business you visit. If you make a purchase, you'll receive an additional stamp. Turn in your completed passport by 2:00PM to be entered into a raffle for an authentic German souvenir.
During the afternoon, there are two tasting events. From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Beach Daisy Wine offers a wine tasting featuring specially selected German wines and noshes. At the same time, Yachats Brewing provides a beer tasting, including their unique Yachats Oktoberfest Brew, made exclusively for the festival, and other beers from their tap list. Additionally, there is a homebrew workshop led by Walter, the brewer for Yachats Brewing.
In the evening, the festivities return to Yachats Commons. The first seating of Oktoberfest runs from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the second from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. These events offer music, dancing, beer, brats, and other traditional German foods. Attendees also receive a commemorative Yachats Oktoberfest Beer Stein. Tickets for the evening events cost $40.00, and seating is limited.
On Sunday, October 1st, the festival concludes with a Traditional Harvest Worship at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception.
Whether you're seeking an immersive cultural experience, want to enjoy traditional German beverages and cuisine, or are simply looking for a fun-filled weekend, Oktoberfest in Yachats promises to be a memorable celebration.
