VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE

The Queen Ann style Keeper's House will be decorated with Victorian flourishes inside and out. Enjoy warm drinks and treats and performances by local musicians. Santa Claus will be there, and there will be a holiday raffle with great prizes from local businesses. Shuttle service will be offered from Heceta Head Lighstation State Scenic Area parking lot to the front door. Or bring warm, rainproof clothing and a flashlight and enjoy a beautiful walk up from the parking lot/beach. The parking fee is $3 or present your Oregon Coast Passport. FMI: (541) 547-3696. 5th Annual NEW YEAR'S PEACE WALK
Start the new year on the right foot! Join the Yachats Trails Committee and fellow trekkers for an invigorating 6-mile round trip walk from the Commons to the Amanda trail and statue where the group will offer blessings for peace in the New Year. Hikers will then be invited to walk or shuttle back to the Commons for refreshments and to collect a commemorative Peace Hike button. In the event of heavy rain or wind, a shorter hike on an alternative route will take place. Dress for changeable weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring walking sticks if you have them. Celebrate Waldport's Centennial and enjoy a fabulous display of fireworks over Alsea Bay beginning at dusk. You'll find plenty of sandy beach to enjoy the view. Park at Patterson State Park or park in Waldport to view the festivities from the Historic Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center or along Keady Wayside. Arrive early and build a sand castle, catch Dungeness crab in Alsea Bay, search for sand dollars along miles of sandy beach, toast marshmallows over a bonfire, ride a green bike and then, by all means enjoy the fireworks! Wacky, whimsical, low-tech fun, the Yachats la de da Parade, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, begins at noon. Before and after the parade explore the town to enjoy special treats and great food, games, art and live music. Find a place on the beach by the mouth of the Yachats River to watch the afternoon Duck Race. OREGON COAST GRAVEL EPIC
The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic offers riders seeking an unvarnished challenge a full day of adventure in the Siuslaw National Forest on the central Oregon Coast. This event is being produced in cooperation with the cities of Waldport and Yachats with support from Travel Oregon. The ride showcases the raw beauty of ancient Siuslaw National Forest scenery and rural coastal communities.
