Celebrate Waldport's Centennial and enjoy a fabulous display of fireworks over Alsea Bay beginning at dusk. You'll find plenty of sandy beach to enjoy the view. Park at Patterson State Park or park in Waldport to view the festivities from the Historic Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center or along Keady Wayside. Arrive early and build a sand castle, catch Dungeness crab in Alsea Bay, search for sand dollars along miles of sandy beach, toast marshmallows over a bonfire, ride a green bike and then, by all means enjoy the fireworks! The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic offers riders seeking an unvarnished challenge a full day of adventure in the Siuslaw National Forest on the central Oregon Coast. This event is being produced in cooperation with the cities of Waldport and Yachats on the central Oregon Coast with support from Travel Oregon. The ride showcases the raw beauty of ancient Siuslaw National Forest scenery and rural coastal communities. The ride is scheduled on Saturday. Calling all fun guys and fun gals to the Yachats Village Mushroom Fest! Experience a tasty weekend of delectable wild forest mushroom cuisine, culinary markets, wine and beer tasting and live entertainment. In addition, have a FUN time learning all about mushrooms, the role of fungi in forest ecology, how to grow your own culinary mushrooms, and much more. We are honored to have a phenomenal team of educators join this festival annually to give talks, lead mushroom walks, and provide exhibits and workshops. The village is lit up & dressed in holiday cheer and offers a month long series of holiday music, food and cultural events. As the holiday season nears, please check back for the complete list of our 2014 events. In the meantime, please take a look at our 2013 Program. The 2014 line-up of events will be similar.

87th Annual CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Crafts made by Ladies Club members include knit items, aprons, quilts, afghans, wall hangings, home decor, table runners, pot holders, potato bakers, casserole carriers, bake sale table, gift baskets and much more. HECETA LIGHTSTATION
VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE

The Queen Ann style Keeper's House will be decorated with Victorian flourishes inside and out. Enjoy warm drinks and treats and performances by local musicians. Santa Claus will be there, and there will be a holiday raffle with great prizes from local businesses. Shuttle service will be offered from Heceta Head Lighstation State Scenic Area parking lot to the front door. Or bring warm, rainproof clothing and a flashlight and enjoy a beautiful walk up from the parking lot/beach. The parking fee is $3 or present your Oregon Coast Passport. FMI: (541) 547-3696. The lightstation is located just 14 miles south of Yachats.

29th ANNUAL WINTER CELEBRATION OPENING CEREMONY
WITH THE SWEET ADELINES

The Opening Ceremony presented by Mary Claire Crook is held at the Little Log Church Museum and is sponsored by the Yachats Area Chamber of Commerce. The Opening Ceremony is followed by a performance by the Sweet Adelines at the Yachats Ladies Clubhouse with refreshements provided by the Yachats Ladies Club.

Meet at the Yachats Commons, Hwy 101 & W 4th St, [#15]
5th Annual NEW YEAR'S PEACE WALK
Start the new year on the right foot! Join the Yachats Trails Committee and fellow trekkers for an invigorating 6-mile round trip walk from the Commons to the Amanda trail and statue where the group will offer blessings for peace in the New Year. Hikers will then be invited to walk or shuttle back to the Commons for refreshments and to collect a commemorative Peace Hike button. In the event of heavy rain or wind, a shorter hike on an alternative route will take place. Dress for changeable weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring walking sticks if you have them. The village gem invites you to the 4th annual Yachats Agate Festival and Gem-Mineral-Fossil Show. The festival weekend will feature spectacular displays as well as family friendly learning opportunities for all ages. There will be special guest speakers and the Oregon Coast Agate Club will also be joining in with demonstrations and club displays. MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION IN YACHATS (PDF flyer)
Mardi Gras Celebration in Yachats kicks off Saturday night with a Starlight Costume Parade followed by a Family Costume Ball - music TBA. Throughout the weekend there will be Gumbo and other New Orleans style food at village eateries, and a Mardi Gras Beads Prize Raffle at local shops. On Fat Tuesday, there will be more music and great food. Details for 2015 will be posted as the dates .
